Originally designed by renowned doll maker Peeteekootee Ugyuk from the community of Taloyoak, these beautiful Inuit (Eskimo) packing dolls are hand made from 100% wool duffle. Every packing doll is dressed in a hand-embroidered
duffle "amauti" (parka) with its baby packed away in the hood. The packing doll represents an authentic textile sculpture and is individually signed in Inuit script by the artist.
The Inukshuk Packing Doll was designed by Mona Igutsaq, General Manager of Taluq Designs in Taloyoak, Nunavut. The Inukshuk is a powerful symbol for northern people and was chosen as the symbol for the 2010 Olympics in Whistler, British Columbia.
